Hi all,
I am a new forum member who has been lurking for several weeks and much appreciating all the knowledge shared about VideoStudio. I purchased VideoStudio 11.5 Plus on Aug. 25 and have been using it successfully. When I heard about the X2 version in this forum I called the Corel Store and obtained special upgrade pricing due to the fact that my purchase was so recent. My question is: should I uninstall 11.5 Plus before installing X2? I have searched the forum and found nothing on this topic. Thanks in advance.

I would install X2 first to ensure it works - Check the invalid Serial thread! - you can then remove 11.5

Welcome to the forums!
There is no particular need to uninstall VS11.5+ first. A number of us here have several versions installed at the same time. I currently have X2 trial version, VS11.5+ and VS10+ installed on this computer which runs Vista. On an XP computer, I have several versions going back to VS7... We do this in order to be able to refer to earlier programs in order to answer questions from users still using the earlier version.
But if you are unlikely to want VS11.5+ ever again, then I would uninstall it first before installing X2. The reason I say this is that if you install X2, then later decided to uninstall VS11.5+, it is always possible that one or two common files could be uninstalled by mistake. That could of course be corrected with a reinstall or repair of X2. But it might be better if VS11.5+ wasn't there in the first place.

Before uninstalling a previous version I would also advise that you make sure your capture devices work with the new version. Some users have reported with other versions that they have been able to capture with version "x" but not with version "y" and so you might find you have a need for the older version.
It is also recommended that any existing projects are completed with the original version used to create them as there may be small alterations in the program structure that create unwanted results if you use the newer version to complete an existing project.
like Ken, I also have several versions installed at the same time.
On my laptop I have VS8 through to VS11 (Currently my copy of VSX2 is still downloading).
