Video Studio X2 Wish List for Future Versions

Post by sjj1805 »

Every so often I have contact with a Corel employee or software engineer regarding new versions. It is always handy if I can point them to a thread such as this.
Please keep any suggestions sensible - plus this is not a place to complain about what YOU may consider to be bugs or faults. Those items should be placed in a new thread or tagged onto an existing one dealing with that same issue.

A link to the Previous wish list thread is here:

I would like the following in the next version. Has been mentioned before.

1) Copy and paste properties from a single clip to another (it is possible in the video tracks except in the main video track)
2) Change the standard properties for filters in the library.
3) Apply a filter or colorcorrection to a selection of clips.

Can you be more specific about (2) since I thought just about all the filters allowed considerable adjustment of their properties.

Trim duration lock. When it's on, dragging the in or out marker causes the other marker to also move with it. It's vital when making music videos to keep the sync.

Ken, I would like to be able to change the properties of a filter in the library menu. In fact changing it's default values.

Jean-Pierre, do you mean changing a filter's default values and then being able to save it as a custom default?

I was rather disappointed to find that they did not include that with this version. Since this was to be the replacement program for MSP, I would have thought moving paths to be at least the #2 feature, if not #1...

Moving paths also.

1. Video Filter Track, The video filter has it's own track so it could be applied to just a segment of video without having to cut the video clips.

2. Painting Creator: A line tool for drawing accurate lines and possibly a Stamp tool, Fill Tool

3. Painting Creator: An option to save your settings i.e. Brush size, keep the lock equal width/height locked or unlocked

Capture option

Post by teleoma »

Hi everyone,
I would like to be able to capture in DV-type 2 to have the soundtrack in PCM. I had hoped to be able to do it with version.
To be able to set a project as standard would also be great.
Bye
Regards
Martine

You can select Type 2 DV in the Options button on the Capture page... But it has been that way in every version I have used since VS7...

Perview Pane Aspect Ratio pre-sets...

I would like to choose from a drop down list and/or input selections manually to set the Preview Pane at a certain aspect ratio.

I know it's only and asthetic but I fond it bugs me...

I haven't upgraded to X2 yet, but, more video filters- the more, the merrier! I'd like one that multiplies an image, like a bugs compound eye. I was trying to achieve that effect, but to no avail. To me, the more special effects, the better!
