Hi,
There's a font I want to use that is not included in PI. I downloaded it from the web and have the .ttf file.
Is there a way to install this font into PI ?
Thanks
add a font to PI

You don't have to install the font into your Windows/Fonts.......if you only wish to use the font once there's a quick and simple way to use it in PI.
This method also prevents installing too many fonts which could cause PI to crash.
Go to the folder where you downloaded the font and open it. Double click on the font file that's within the zip window so that it opens fully.
Now that it's open, open PI [if PI is already open, just click on a different tool then back to the Text Tool] Open the Text list on the Attribute bar and find the font you have open on your desktop. It should be there ready for you to use.
When you close the Font file, the font will also disappear in PI.
Try to keep the minimum of fonts in your system but never uninstall System Fonts.
Hope this helps.

1. Open PI
2. Open the truetype font file (NOT in PI)
3. If you have the Text Tool selected, just selected another tool then go back to the text tool.
4. Scroll down the drop-down box and the truetype font you chose will be visible in the PI window for you to use.
5. Once you close the truetype font file, the font will also go from PI.
Doing it this way prevents you installing large volumes of fonts into your Windows Fonts.

Yes, you must extract the text file into a folder. I have a Fonts Folder that I extract fonts that I don't necessarily wish to add to my Windows system.
Remember, when you open the font and use it for PI, it's only temporary. As soon as you close the font window, it's no longer useable in PI.
It's just a great way of using a font temporarily for a special project.
