Hello and thank you for providing this forum. Everything is going well, I have created a project and the playback of it is interesting. Where I am having difficulty is in exporting the project into a file that is playable on YouTube. The file seems to save okay and is named all right (.FLV), but when I try to upload it, I get "format file mismatch" and it won't upload. I see that there are lots of posts on "format file mismatch", but I don't understand how they apply to the situation I am in. Hope you can help! I looked through the help files on the Corel site and found some stuff saying that the YouTube videos should be treated first in a .WMVfile,(http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 0104440757) but I could not find that option anyplace under the share tab.

I did my best to fill out the profile as in your sticky posts for all users, but I was not able to find all the information on the HP site regarding my computer. I don't want to have you do a lot of extra work; I filled it out as best as I can. I couldn't find a reference as to what the motherboard is for this computer. The computer itself is an HP Pavilion ZV 5000; a notebook.

Make sure that you have installed the Real Player. I think VideoStudio X2 uses this player to decode flv files in the time line.

Thanks a lot. I already have Real Player installed. I ended up converting this to a WMV file and that worked. Thanks for the input.

I still would like anyone's advice on creating flv files to export to youtube.

It seems that the wizard "wants' to do this -- seems to default to flv -- but I always get the "format file mismatch" once the file is created.

The flv file has been produced, but does not play or upload. wmv works for youtube, but such grainy images. Hope to do better with flv.

Welcome to the forum. I too had problems with the correct format for YouTube. Recently YT has changed their submission file formats. I have had great success in using the ¡¥Watch in High Quality¡¦ in the last week. If you want the best quality now from UT I suggest submitting an MPEG-4 file, as UT now accepts this format (at last).
I suggest the following:
With your original project edited files in the time line. Go to Create File¡K. Custom¡K. MPEG-4¡KOptions¡K. General¡K.Frame Rate 25fps¡K.Frame Size¡K720 x 576¡K.Compression¡K.Video Type¡K.M4V-SP¡K Video Rate 2000 kbps¡K..Save File.

By submitting a frame size of 720 and a bitrate of 2000 UT will decoade it into two files, one will be in Normal Quality and the other in High Quality¡K It will place a watch in High Quality item under your video.

Here is an example using all of the above settings for a 3-Min movie. Mind you the file size is high but UT is now quite forgiving in the file size even over 100 MB and video size.

But make sure you click on the Watch In High Quality button, as the default is normal quality, unless you change it in your YT preferences.
