VS X2
I am in the process of using the trial version. I have a question of Ulead designers and/or users. I would like to insert the imbeded time date on the video. I see you can do this with a DV camcorder, however my question is can and how is this done on a flash card or hard drive camcorder? Both of these camcorders also embed the time date on the video, but I see no way in VS X2 to show it. The real problem is DV camcorders are being quickly replaced by the Flash/Hard Drive camcorders and it seems the new VS is already out of date if it cannot record the time and date on the newer camcorders. Any Help???

In fact, it was only Sony which a particular model or models which, in their menu, could embed a visible date and time watermark, which VS would read and embed. All other brands and models of mini DV, and hard disk and flash drive, cameras as far as I am aware do not actually embed the date and time so that they are visible in the final, and VS does not read them this way. They date and time are there in the digital info on the video, yes, but VS cannot and will not embed them.
The only work-around is for you to make a small title with a transparent background, insert it in an overlay track, and stretch it for however long you want.
