Corel x2 subtitles
I wanted to see if x2 would open and play a VSP project file that I had made using my current version of VS10+. Nice to see that it does, but I see 'subtitles' at the bottom of the screen while the video is playing. Just curious why x2 shows English subtitles in a project made without those in VS10+ and how to suppress the subtitles. Thanks!

If you're opening a VSP file, you should be able to see the subtitles in the one of the title tracks. VS does not add its own subtitles, so you have had to create them in VS10+.
If you imported a DVD, and subtitles are showing, there is a new option found in the Preferences dialog. On the Edit tab in the Video section, you can check or uncheck the box beside Show DVD Subtitle.

Whilst newer versions can open project files started in older versions it has always been the recommendation of the User Board to complete a project in the version that created it.
Different versions may appear visually very similar in appearance, but underneath that hood there have been lots of changes made which could affect how a new version will handle an older versions project file.

Yes you are right
I imported a series of chapters from a commercial DVD and I am sure that those files have subtitles in them. Just never saw a subtitle in project playback before in VS10+.
