''The import command only works with closed path data"

Post by talented »

The subject is the error message I get when trying to open a WMF or EMF file in the Lathe Object Editor. Is there a special way to save files with a closed path in other programs or to close the path?

Thanks.

If there is, I haven't figured it out yet, either... I've had no luck with importing either type.

I have better luck with using the "Convert to Vector" function (bottom button) and just import a jpeg or bmp. Editing and adjusting the nodes takes practice, though. You'll likely be doing a lot of that...

Thanks, Viking.

Hmmmmm.......I suppose this is one of those issues where using upsupported software kicks one in the butt!

OK - I saw this although a few weeks late - it might help in the future - if you are using Adobe Illustrator files you have to save it in version 8 or earlier for the closed path to work. Then if you have a complicated image it might take a while to import. Hope that might help, thanks.
