This is a user's forum. You need to contact Corel.

What a stupid response you got there.... you were right for posting your question here - others need to know the problems out there with this product.
I also downloaded the upgrade to VS X2 Pro and can not install using th serial number Corel provided me. Sent an email to Corel and do not expect a quick response - their tech support is weak.
As a note, I also did not get the confirmation email they promised yet and the web site says "within 30 min of purchase" yet the purchase is showing as valid in my corel user account.
Get on the ball Corel!

Same here I also got the "Invalid serial number" when I tried to install the product (upgrade to Pro X2). Sent an email to Corel and waiting now for a reply that can be a week from now. This is ridiculous.

I also purchased VSX2 Pro today... same problem, invalid serial. For those who want immediate resolution (and that would pretty much be everyone) I believe this can be resolved by calling Corel Customer Service.
Same here!!

Just FYI, I spoke with Corel's activation department earlier today. They are aware of the VSX2 "invalid serial number" issue and expect to have it resolved today (Wednesday), but no later than tomorrow (Thursday 9-11). If you want to let Corel know that you are effected by this issue there are various contact options for USA customers here:

Yes but if you are living in Cyprus you can't call a toll free (0800...) number in UK or USA. Unless you have another number for me to call.

Stelios, I'm a user like yourself (I don't work for Corel) so I don't have any specific info about their support options in the Mediterranean region. If you check the Corel Support site for your area there should at least be an email link. I think they will be contacting all customers who are effected but I would still send them a message just to make sure you're covered.

Thanks Michael for your input. I know that you don't work for COREL I just though that you might have a number that overseas customers can call. If you don't mind, can you call them and ask support if they can give you such a number (not a toll free number, I will pay for the call)? If not then it's OK as I have already email them and I am waiting for a reply, but it can take ages.

I've always been a big Corel fan and love VideoStudio. I just downloaded the trial and used it. It seems almost identical to 11.5 and I didn't notice any speed improvement rendereing (did the same project in 11.5 and 12).
I don't get the painting part, although didn't try very hard.
Two things I was disappointed about:
- when you have multi-trimmed clips, it would be nice to be able to save them as a batch (in separate files)
- having the ability to add zoom automatically to pictures (like you do fit to size)
I'll probably upgrade at some point. Especially if I find something even marginally I need.

Almost identical? You're joking aren't you?
BTW the painting can be opened via the most right icon (with the brush) above the track panel or via the pull down menu "Tools"> "Painting creator". Your painting will be saved as a clip in the library which you can place in any video track.
Why don't you, after trimming, drag those clips to the library? Than they can be used as if they were different clips.
Have you tried auto pan and zoom?
