Using Video Studio 11.5.0157.1 Plus on a Toshiba Satellite A135
Intel Duo Core T2450 2GH with 2GB Ram and 20 free GB on my 80 GB drive.
I am editing AVI files downloaded from my Nikon Coolpix and found that there have been OOS issues. Especially when I add a 2nd video clip below the main clip. In particular when I separate the audio from the 2nd clip and then delete it. The burned product also has OOS isses.
The problem seems to happen if I insert a clip, then trim the left edge (using the F3 Key). If I click on the clip (select it) and play, the OOS does not occur. If I click on the timeline (above the clip) and they play, the OOS happens right away and persists during the buring process.
Even in the case where I simply insert the aVi clip then trim the left side of the clip. When I write the clip back to an avi file, the audio in the output file begins at the "original beginning" as though it had not been trimmed and the video begins where the trimming was done.
Your help with this problem is greatly appreciated! I can send the file if necessary.
Regards,
Robert Rice

You say you are using AVI files, but there are literally hundreds of types. Please right click on one and post the properties here.

Your Coolpix camera is a digital still camera? If so, then it probably uses a codec that greatly compresses the images - great for distribution - bad for editing. You could try first converting them to dv-avi using Super or some other media converter.
Steve, this forum's moderator, recently gave great advice. If you want to shoot stills, buy a camera. If you want to shoot video, buy a camcorder. If you want to talk, buy a phone.

I just downloaded the latest version of the codec I mentioned above.
The properties shown from Ulead VSP say that it is a MS AVI File, MJPEG Compressor Video, CCITT u-law Audio.
I have verified that I can replicate this problem simply by loading a video file, trimming the start point. When the clip is selected, there IS NO PROBLEM. When the timeline (above the clip) is selected, the problem begins.
