Good books on VS? Magazine articles?

Post by chuckpuckett »

Are there any good books on using VS out there? You know, tricks and hints from the VS gurus sort of thing. For instance, Filters intrigue me, but the online help pretty much just says they exist, and where to find them in the GUI. I'd like to see a nice tutorial that described each filter, how to use it, what each setting does (for those of us not versed in the specifics of specularity :) ).

Alternatively, perhaps there are some magazines that maintain on-line articles that might be useful. Any suggestions.

Books on video editing

Post by jbowen28 »

I did a search for "book" on the VS forum. I found this great post by DVDDoug:

Do you want a book? Before I bought any hardware or software, I bought a book called From VHS To DVD, buy Goewecke. I learned quite a bit from it, but it had some shortcomings. The examples used a particular set of free software, and he doesn't really cover DVD authoring & burning... only Video-CD creation.

Here are some web sites that might help too:

VideoHelp.com

DigitalFAQ.com

Doom9.org

AfterDawn.com

BurnWorld.com

You will probably have to find this post to get the hyperlinks. www.videohelp.com is particular good.

Good luck.
