Why the limited menu templates (2 home video} ?
Are they going to charge extra for same number of templates as in
version 11.5?

Are you viewing the trial version, as they don't come with all the samples? From what I understand is X2 has even more samples and templates than v11.

VSP X2 is not MSP

Post by marcvanimpe »

Apparently Corel do not consider VSP X2 to be an upgrade to MSP... as MSP customers are not eligible to order at the (lower) upgrade price.
Believe that says it all: MSP users are more and more left in the cold and will have to look elsewhere for a comparable UP TO DATE product.

No, X2 is not an upgrade to MSP. I don't think it was ever meant to be. MSP users were given an opportunity to receive a free copy of VS v11. Had you taken advantage of that then you would have had an upgrade path to X2.

As for an up-to-date product that is comparable to MSP, I'm afraid you will have to look elsewhere if you are not satisfied with X2. :(

As I'm not watching the forums all the time I indeed never saw the "announcement".
Being quite a good customer of both ULead and Corel since LONG (I have registered 31 programs of their make and spent well over $ 1500 since 2002) I feel quite left in the blue about MSP being discontinued. And missed the chance to get free VideoStudio.
I really had expected to be informed by e-mail at least!
But even then; apparently (from what I read in product descriptions and in the forums) VideoStudio is just a poor alternative to MSP.

I was wondering whether project files saved using video studio 11/11+ are compatible with the new video studio X2?
Yes have tried a couple created in VS 11.5 plus and they work fine.
Thank you for your reply....placed my order weeks ago and you were right.. :D
