2 million downloads since yesterday ? I wonder is
that just for this version seems like an awful lot
but then it is on the front page.
It's available to buy on Corel but you have to look for it.
Thought there'd be banners etc promoting it

Apparently it doesn't support HD DVD!!! like VideoSdudio11.5plus. I wonder though if there is still going to be a VideoStudio12.

X2 is v12. If you notice, the site says there is a Standard and a Pro version.

Don't you find it strange then that X2 Pro doesn't support HD DVD where as VS11.5 does?

No. HD DVD lost the format war to Blu-Ray, so I guess Corel figured why should they sink resources into a dead format.

I see it now $59 to upgrade, $99 new. Not sure I need the upgrade.
