Hi Terry

As a workround you could create a sound file (wav) of the smart sound clip. You would need to start a new project, insert the smartsound clip , share create sound file. Insert the wav to replace the smart sound file.

That sounds interesting , Trevor ! I hadn't thought of that ! I had particularly wanted to use this piece of music as it seemed to really fit the mood of the video.
Would you have to take the clip from your project in some way because that would be the length of clip that you would require , wouldn't it ?

Yes, it's all coming back to me. That's exactly what I did in that situation. I would simply go to Share > Create Audio file and create a WAV of the SmartSound, then put that in my project.

Jeff
What were the circumstances that prompted you to go to the extent of creating a .WAV file of the SmartSound ?

The exact problem you are having - the long delay caused by the SmartSound track.

First I got the SmartSound track to the length I wanted. Of course this took some patience because of the delay. But after I got it I made a WAV file from it, then replaced the SmartSound with the WAV and, voila, no more delay.

They do have the update for Ulead Smartsound, 3.0.6.0, which is the one that I was provided for testing. I haven't installed it on my Vista PC yet. There was a problem with their 3.0.9.0 update, causing a cut-out at about 3 mins. This was not present in the 3.0.6.0 update.

I haven't looked at this delay issue yet, but will try to in the next day or so.
