When png files are added to a DVD menu as a decoration the transparent areas of the files are not transparent but white. I thought that was the whole idea of using png files over jpg's.
The files do in fact have transparent areas as they show up in Photoshop correctly.
Any ideas?

The files I'm attempting to use are png files that came with VS 11.5+!
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Samples\Decoration
Not sure about the alpha channel on png files. When I open "D01.png" from the directory reference above in Photoshop there is no alpha channel listed only channels listed are: RGB, Red, Green, & Blue.
The images are clearly transparent as you can see the tell tale checkered pattern as a background. Sorry about the pun
