Hi,
I checked with Search but no luck. Quick one: how does one cancel the default transition in the preferences (MSP8) once one has been selected?
TIA

getting rid of the default transition
Thank you, I found that, but for some strange reason I thought that one could select "no default transition" (or "none"). However in the meantime I figured out that changing the transition is a "piece of cake".
Just a matter of getting a few more hours of "experience" under my belt.
On the same topic, I downloaded the trial version of VS 11+ and discovered that they implemented the transition complete with a checkbox to skip the default transition. Also got a taste of what people mean when they are not overwhelmed with the features of VS.

With MediaStudio you can add items to the time line en masse with or without transitions by firstly copying them to the project tray, selecting the required clips in the project tray and right clicking. This gives an option to add to the timeline. The dialog box that appears has several options including a default transition and duration.
In fact I use MediaStudio to create my slideshows and I begin by placing a piece of music on the timeline (No images at this stage) and I mark where I would like each transition or slide change to occur. The using the above method there is an option to add the clips (or slides) to the time line aligned to those cue markers!
