rnoor -- I am afraid I cannot help on burning a Blu-Ray disc as I don't have a Blu-Ray burner myself, so have never tried it. My understanding is, though, that you can burn AVCHD direct to Blu-Ray discs. And an AVCHD hybrid disc (which I do burn) using a standard DVD, burns in a Blu-Ray structure. So my own inclination would be to do as it sounds like you are already doing. I would edit my AVCHD in its native format, and then select Share > Create Disc > Blu-Ray.
One question, though, when you say you can edit your AVCHD, do you use SmartProxy? If so, I am just worried that if your do your edits on the proxy files in the timeline, but don't then apply the edits to the AVCHD originals, and then jump straight to the burning module, you may in fact be burning the standard definition mpeg-2 files (greatly upgraded to HD properties, but that does not improve the quality).
VS 11.5+ What is recommended workflow for AVCHD to DVD+R?

workflow avchd to bluray disc
Hi Ken thank you for your response and sorry for the delayed responce as i have been away for few days.
I dont use smartproxy but i think you are correct in i am perhaps not keeping my original properties of avchd when going through burning .
I have read previous you advise creating avchd movie template.
Ive tried to follow the steps but every time i click add, then click ... give file name = avchd 5.1 and browse ,select ok,then close(ok up to this point ) I do not edit new template.
When i go to share the only option i have is creat disc.
Not create file then avchd = saved template. Some reason i am not saving new template.
Also when in burning option = bluray, what template settings is required.
I could be going wrong here as well?
My imported files are avchd,
file format = pal hdmv
h.264 video, uff
1440x1080, 16.9
bit rate 11800
dd 5.1 audio.
I need to keep this properties when burning to bluray disc, but when i choose bluray option, the template settings are different to the obove.
I end up with mpeg 2 files when burnt to disc not h.264 video.
Is this the reason why picture is degraded.
Could you possibly advise me on start to finish.
I realise i am trying to run before i can walk but i am willing to learn.
Thanks for your time.

The first part of you question I might be able to help with, but not the second. As I have already said, I don't have a Blu-Ray burner so have never burned a Blu-Ray disc. Thus I cannot give a step-by-step procedure for doing that.
On your first question, though, when you create that template and save it, it should appear when you have the AVCHD project in the timeline and then select Share > Create Video File. A drop-down menu should appear with your new template down near the bottom. If you are only getting the Create Disc option, then you don't have your project in the timeline...
