Alludo USER to USER Web Board

I tried converting my mpeg2-HD 1080p file into an WMV-HD file so I can play on my vista media extender but when I clicked on the template the file produced a letterboxed 4:3 file instead of 16:9.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you installed Windows Media Encoder series 9?

I just installed WME series 9, but do not the get the 1920x1080 option. Is this available?

My understanding is that it only goes to 1440 x 1080. Mind you, this is still pretty good and if you think about it, is the same frame size as your HDV original video.

EDIT: I have just experimented and instead of using a HDV format file, I used an AVCHD one with native format of 1920 x 1080. But even with that, in seeking to convert it to HD WMV, it would only go up to 1440 x 1080. So I think that must be the maximum size for the format...

All I can say is that I get it, as well as the 1280 x 720... When I click on Share > Create Video File > WMV, then at the top of the dropdown menu, I get WMV HD 1080p (which is 1440 x 1080) and below that WMV HD 720p (which is 1280 x 720).

Have you tried Make Movie Template Manager? Click on that, then choose .wmv as the format of your new template. Give it a name and click OK. Another dialogue box will appear with 3 tabs. Choose Profile. Then click on the dropdown arrow near the top, and long list of possible profiles will appear. I get, at the top, 4 Neptune profiles. Then below those, I get Ulead WMV HD 1080 25p, and below that one for 720... If you get it on that list, then make a special template using the 1080 choice. If you don't have that, then I would try reinstalling Windows Media Encoder 9...
