PI X3 Problem with Presets

I have added all of the presets that I normally use in PI x3. (previous versions 7 & 10). I added the presets I wanted per instructions for PI 7 & 10.

Some of the presets will work and others will not, i.e., gold (metallic) ones. When I set up my text for a website, and click on the preset for the gold (or any of the metallics) the color is flat and does not look like gold, silver, brass, etc.

Can someone help me with this PI X3 - preset problem, advice, instructions, PLEASE. I really need my presets.

I am in the process of adding presets to my PI x3. I have all of the presets and the SMP files in one central folder so that the program and pull from there. I have loaded several sets of the presets into a folder I am calling "My Gallery". I can click on a particular color, (it doesn't make any difference what set I am using) and the color will show up wrong. Say a blue preset is red all the way through that set or, a green color will show up blue, etc. On others, I have no problem at all. They are what color they are suppose to be. Some work right - some don't.

Also, should the presets "My Gallery folder be under Image Enhancements or, should it be under Text/Path Effects??

I am also getting this message on the ones that will not work at all:

"Unable to apply the selected thumbnail's properties to the image.
[800:312:24977]"

Can someone help me figure out why PI x3 is doing this and how to fix it???

I have used these presets before and they worked fine in PI7 & 10 with no problem at all. Oh! at any given time the program will lock up and I have to close it out and reopen and it will work again. Is there a solution to this??

The procedure I use is to highlight "My Gallery" and right click and choose "Load". When the window pops up, I will scroll down until I find the SMP that I want to load and then click OK. The presets will load in the Easy Palette. I keep a test file open with large text and will click on each other to see if they are working.

I would be forever greatful if any of you could help me find an answer or, provide a solution.

Hello Arlexda,

Unfortunately, sometimes presets from older version work and sometimes they don't. We have no idea why. There appears to be a glitch in PIX3.

However, I would advise you try the Beginner's Workshop for PhotoImpact where you can learn a lot about this kind of thing.

Also, there's a tutorial with a few videos that may help you.
