Fade-out on final video?

I'm currently 5 days into a trial of the ESD of 11.5+. and loving it. I've searched in this forum and in the manual, but haven't found the answer I was looking for, so if I've missed something, I apologise.

I've compiled a series of DV videos into a VSP, but am wondering how to get the very last one to fade to black. Since "fade to black" is a transition effect, I can't just put it after the final video, since there's nothing for it to transition to. Am I on the right track in thinking that I should insert a black frame after the final video so as to be able to insert the fade to black transition effect?

Choose Colour from the Gallery drop down box and insert the Colour black after the last video and add your transition.

Yeah i overlooked the Colour option for a long time myself, very useful.
Videostudio is one of those packages you learn to love

it's just so easy
to use. can't wait for version 12
