Output Properties (from the burn module click on the cogwheel icon in the lower left and post here):

Did you follow the suggested workflow for burning?

Yes please. We need details, not general answers like "default".

Hello,

I'm having the same problem. Everything was working fine for me in all projects that i have made. The problem only started after i have installed antivirus bitdefender internet security 2008.

Is there a way for both software run properly at the same time, or is it better to turn off bitdefender when running ulead video studio 11 plus.

(Sorry about my english, but i'm portuguese)

THANKS

I don't know...but I've heard that it's a good idea to turn that type of software off when rendering or burning a DVD....

Properties of your source files (right click on a clip and post here):
AVI FILES ULEAD VS11+ Document size 29.5 KB

What devices are involved and their mode of connection? (i.e. Digital camcorder via firewire): Captured from my Digital camera on a firewire

Project Properties (File > Project Properties):Created an MPG2 file 464MB

Output Properties (from the burn module click on the cogwheel icon in the lower left and post here):
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 7000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

I was able to try burning the project file even though it crashes while rendering at 99%...BUT when I treid to burn it the same thing happened...
HOPE I was able to proide all of the information you need...

THANKS for trying to help me!

It would be helpful if you would provide ALL the information for your clip and project properties, just like you did for your output properties.

One thing I do notice is that your output properties are set for Frame Based. Coming from a digital camcorder you should most probably be using Lower Field First.

Project Properties:

NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 4:3, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC, 32.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Dcailler,

I'm going to guess that your video clip properties are similar to:

Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 4:3, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

So your Project Properties AND your output file should also have the field order set to Lower Field First.

Hi

By the way, from the capture screen, what option do you choose for the ¡¥capture format¡¦?
If you have the option choose DV.
Also the make and model of your camcorder may be useful. There are many types of digital camera?

I'm using a small Canon DV camcorder to play back the tape to capture it...originally it was recorded on a Panasonic DC-AG30

....capture settings:

SOURCE: Canon DV device
FORMAT : DV

Thanks for your input....and help...

Hi,

I expect that at 99% the videostudio is trying to join the resulting video and audio data into one mpeg-file...

If all else fails you can still use external program to join video and audio files into one mpeg-video file.

The temporary video and audio files should be available in the output directory that you specify when you try to create the mpeg-file.

The handy little program is called: ImagoMPEG-muxer

I think you may be right....I ended up with two MPEG files one video and one audio....that has never happened before....If i use this program you suggested that will fix this? I don't understand why that happened...I'm at work right now, but I will try your suggestion later when I get home...
THANKS!

The solution is somewhere in the C:\program files\common\ulead system xxx\mpeg\*.dll

There might be more than one ulead-folder there, which might confuse the videostudio and thus making is not working when mpeg-join is done.
