Quick fade in and out

Post by scatters »

Hi I'm using UVS 7.0 SE DVD and I've tried to work out with no success on how to get the titles I created to fade in and out much quicker. Something like the text fading in, in 1 sec and then fading out in 1 sec. I know how to keep the title in the time line for long periods by stretching it but its the ends were I want a quick fade in and out. Hope I've explained myself properly. Thanks for your help.

With your title in the timeline or on screen, and with VS 7 in Title mode, you should have, in the top left hand side of screen, a heading called Edit, and beside that, another one, sort of greyed out, labelled Animation. Click on that one. I can't quite recall the VS 7 layout, but I think it was very similar to VS 9. You can then choose to activate animations by checking a box. You choose the type of animation (Fade, Fly etc) from a drop down menu box. Select Fade. Beside that box there is an icon with two Ts (i.e. TT). Click on that and then you can customise the Fade, including how long the text stays on screen.

Hi
cross fade tends to fade in and out over the whole title period.
A 4 second title will X-fade quickly, whereas a 12 second X-Fades slowly.

If you want a 2 second fade in to a static title then fade out.

Create your title, fade in, 2 seconds, drag the title to the library, this makes a thumbnail copy of your title.
Drag the title back to the timeline adjacent to the first, change the animation to static, 10 seconds.
Drag the title again from the library, change this to fade out, 2 seconds.

Using the library ensures the text is in the same position.

You can change the duration of the title by entering a time in the duration box (top left).

Thanks Ken, trevor, seems I have to add a few titles to get the result I want. I haven't got that TT icon so I guess I just have to follow what trevor said. Thanks again.

Also is there any other colour other than black we can use as a background for titling? Thanks.

Hi,

The titler works in a transparent space. Add color to the timeline for a background.
