Welcome to the forums,

We have a moderator with the username Devil, and you want us to be nice..? Just kidding, we don't bite (most of the time..)

Yes there are several that can be obtained, from free to costing some serious cash. This can be found in our General Information and Downloads forum. The thread is called Free Stuff for Use with VideoStudio Products. Member Stephan Burger has some nice Transition effects as well as Video Filters, a link to them are found in the above. Look for Burgers Transitions.

Some third party, commercial transitions and filters are found HERE

Not transitions but other free additions that might be useful

newbluefx have a free cartoonr video filter http://www.newbluefx.com/cartoonr/

For some free Motion Backgrounds, Lower Thirds etc take a look at
movietools also they have a few links to other free stuff.

Hi,
I just found the folder where the transitions are kept. It is the Vfx_plug folder. So, I copied and pasted the transitions from VS10+ to VS11+.
Please comment if this is incorrect. Thanks

If they work it is correct. If they don't work it is incorrect.

Copy/paste from older versions to new works most of the time.
Things to note:

1. You must open VideoStudio at least once before you attempt to copy/paste - especially if you copy and paste items in the VFX_plug folder.
The VFT_plug folder doesn't seem to have that problem

2. Some items from older versions do not work if your operating system has changed. For example the timecode plug in works with XP but if you alter your system to Vista, if you copy that plug in across it causes VideoStudio to crash the next time you open it - though it fixes itself and will open next time but that plug in will not have been recognised.

3. Some plug ins require other files to be installed on your hard drive.
For example the Burger FX Bench Video Filters require certain other files to be present. You can still copy/paste the VFT file over but once you open FX Bench you will then need to tell it where those other files are located.

Mask Transitions

Post by Bimbing »

Hi,
Thanks sjj1805 for the hints. I downloaded the Burger transitions and they are recognized in both VS10+ and VS11+. However, I still could not move the many Mask transitions from VS10+ to VS11+. As I wrote earlier VS11+ just shows two Mask transitions. Although with VS10+ I got all the Cat. A-F Mask transitions, in its VfX_plug folder, there is only one mask.vfx file of 10 KB. Where are the Mask files in VS10+? Thanks for any help.
