Have been using Creator 2, upgraded to 3. Can view program content in the preview screen. When I hit the RECORD button it DOES NOT change to STOP when attempting to record video from the TV. The preview window goes BLACK. The CONTROL BUTTONS remain gray and nonfunctional. There is no indication that anything is being recorded re REMAINING TIME etc.
I had no such problem when using WinDVD Creator 2. YES ALL MY DRIVERS/FIRMWARE is updated and current. The ONLY THING that has changed re my system is Creator 3.

Welcome to the forums,
Since all your firmware, drivers ect are all current, that leaves one question to ask... What OS are you running it on? WinDVD Creator is a discontinued product, and is not compatible with Vista.
While it is possible to run it under compatibility mode for XP, it still may not function correctly.
I don't use WinDVD Creator, so I'm not familiar with the program. But since it definitely is not working properly I would suspect a faulty installation. I know that this is Corel's Tech Support battle cry..."Try Reinstalling....", but it seems like about the only feasible action that may correct the problem.

Well since you're running XP that certainly throws the Vista theory out the window...
You're not completely accurate about being fully updated, since the most current update for XP is SP3. With that I'm thinking that maybe DirectX may not be updated? Go HERE and download the latest MS Direct-X drivers. The most current is dated June, 2008. Some updates, especially MS Windows, tend to break some multi-media apps. I know it is prevalent with VS and DVDMF, AND installing the current DirectX seems to cure most of them..
DirectX updates are not provided with the typical Windows updates. You must manually download and install them.

WinDVD Creator 2
Hello, I'm having a similar problem to what Shard is having where the preview screen when i hit the record button goes very dark & it i impossible to see anything. I'm using WinDVD Creator 2, I've tried using Creator 3 but after 9 seconds the audio would cut out on my recorded file, so i went back to using WinDVD Creator 2. Does anyone know how to fix this problem with Creator 2? I've been racing my brain trying to figure it out. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Cheers, George
