Hello Everyone, about 11.0 to 11.5 :(

Post by techlgb »

Hi everybody,
I have a sample question here, please someone can answer me,
I saw a lot people had a bad experience from VS 11.0 upgrade to VS 11.5
And I saw a download link form US corel store,

http://store.corel.com/webapp/wcs/store ... Name=corel

My question is, if i buy a VS11.5+, can I pass all upgrade steps and got all features in 11.5+? :?
or it still have VS 11.0 + update pack in there, i need upgrade it by manually? :(
It confuse me.

thanks

First, for the upgrade, you must have version 11 PLUS. If you just have plain version 11, without the PLUS, it will not upgrade.

When you think you have installed VS11.5+, you must first click on the ? symbol in the top right of screen, and then choose 'About Ulead Video Studio'. In the screen which then appears, the version number must be 11.5.0157.2 PLUS. If you don't have those exact figures, then you have to go to the Ulead.com site and download and install, in this order: (1) the update patch of 6 November 2007; (2) the Power Pack of 8 November.

I am not certain what Corel mean when they are selling a boxed version of VS11.5+. I think it is still just VS11+, and you still have to add the two updates manually. But I could be wrong. However, after installing, check the version number and if you don't have that exact number, then you need to manually install the updates.

Thanks for your kindly answer me.
But I still hope to find out what i will get in that box/download.
I am not sure my family can handle that update steps.

techlgb started a new thread with a clearer version of his question. I told him that only created confusion by having two threads on the same question open. So I locked the other thread.

His new, clearer version of the question is as follows:
Hi every,

My last topic not clearly telling my question, so i create a new one.
my really question is,
I am not sure my family can handle 11.0 to 11.5 upgrade steps.
What i will get if i buy a 11.5 box/download from Corel store

1. fully VS 11.5 can forget upgradde steps
2. or VS11.0 with upgrade pack (or say patch?) Confused
3. the wrost one, even do not have pack in there, i only got 11.0 and should download pack from corel(Ulead) website? (what will happened if user don't have internet?)

thanks

Well if you don't have an internet connection you will have two problems.

Problem #1.
You will not be able to keep your software up to date by obtaining patches and downloads.

Problem #2
You will not be able to see this answer!!

You mean about 11.5 box version, your answer is 3?
only VS11.0 in that box and need download from Corel website?

Why i asking because my home town family have not internet, if i order a box version, that will be a problem it can't upgrade.

I strongly suspect that when you purchase VS11.5+ that in fact you get VS11.0+ but are then pointed to the update links.

That is however only guess work based upon recently distributing VS11+ as prizes to winners of the My Tutorial competition. If anyone has actually purchased a boxed version of 11.5+ perhaps they can chip in and let us know for sure.
