how to save as mpeg4, divx or other format

Post by whatagem »

I made a video using ulead video studio 11.5+
Uploaded to web & it looked horrible!
Someone told me that's because it was saved as wmv & that I need to save as mpeg4, xvid or divx.

So...how do I save it as a diff format?

The same way you created the wmv file, but choose a different template (such as mpeg4).

But let me ask, where did you upload it to on the web, YouTube or the like? If so, it probably will look terrible because of their compression.

yes, i uploaded to youtube (looked awful!!!). It's been a couple weeks so I couldn't quite remember exactly what I did. After work today, I'll try to save something as a diff format & see how that turns out

Yes, videos that contain photos or minimal movement will usually look pretty good. But the more movement you have the worse the video looks.

Here's an example of a video with a lot of movement. Notice the grainyness and pixelation.

Have you tried the built in option on the [Share] tab for saving to the web - including YouTube.

Yeah, I tried the built in YouTube uploader. When the box pops up with sign in/register stuff, I click the box that says Sign In but nothing happens. I do mean nothing! I don't even my mouse pointer turning into an hour glass or anything. Would I need have internet opened? Or a specific browser?

You need to be connected to the internet if your on a modem. If you're on broadband your connected anyway, otherwise everything is sort of wizard driven.

You could also try the templates from this link:

As I said, the more motion the worse it looks. What happens when you click on Watch In High Quality on YouTube? That usually looks pretty good.
