How can i save a trimmed clip as a MPG file, only see .VSP

Post by JM »

I'm puzzled about working with trimmed clips. Once I trim them and have what I want, I can not save it as a .mpg. I keep getting a .vsp file, and find no way to get what I have in the program, to my hard drive saved as any other name as an .mpg file.

Go to the Share tab and you'll find the "save" options.

The VSP file isn't video. It's just a bunch of "instructions" that tell Video Studio what edits to make when you "render".

For example, if you delete your original video file and then try to open your VSP file, you'll get an error message that says something like, Video Studio can't find the video.

BTW- When you edit a video file, it doesn't work like a word processor. You don't directly edit the original file. So, when you render & save you normally create a completely new file (unless you intentionally overwrite the original).

Thanks Doug, that was easy. I like the software a lot, although I have had to crash me a few times. I will format the system and install it all fresh when I get the program I purchased. For now, I can get back to my project.
I suggest that Ulead add your note to the manual under the index heading of saving, sub topic, of trimmed Video.

Thanks again. JM
