Working folders

I have VS 11+ running under Win XP/SP2/HE.

I have 3 hard drives. An internal master HD (C) which has the VS program on it. An internal slave HD (D) which has the Windows My Documents folder on it. An external HD (G) which has the most free space in my system.

In VS Preferences I have set the working folder to G:\temp and it appears to be the place in which VS temporary files, eg selected video clips, are stored. However, for some reason VS automatically creates a folder called Ulead VideoStudio in My Documents on the D drive. This has a number of sub-folders, one of which is called CvtedTitle. I'm guessing this to stand for something like Converted Title as it always contains a large mpeg file related to the current project. Because of its size I would like this file, and all the rest of this second working folder to be with the "official" working folder, G:\temp. Is it possible to do this?

Because the burner module is actually a separate program, in reality you have 2 working folders. The first one, for capturing, is set either in Preferences or on the Capture tab. The second one, for burning, is set on the final page of the burning module.

You can set the second one manually each time on the final page of the burning module. But you can also set it in the first page of the burning module permanently by clicking on the first of the three icons in the bottom left of the burning screen. Select Preferences and then change the working directory to your external drive. Normally, this working directory is the same one as in the Editor module, but as Black Lab has explained, in effect they are two separate modules and changing one will not automatically change the other.

Thanks for the reply. I've just tried your first suggestion and it worked perfectly. I'll try your second suggestion later.
