swf files

Post by Joseph Gotsens »

VS 9. does a very strange thing when I select an swf file located in a directory other than the VS 9.0 sample/video folder. I get an error message to the effect that the file is not of proper format or I have not enough memory etc.. However, after placing the very same file in the VS samples/video folder, I get no error and the file is loaded properly. This is not a good thing.
Also, where can I get more swf files- I thought they had a CD filled with them?

Hi,

What are the properties of the file(s)?

Is the drive where the file is located fast enough for video editing?

swf files

I have 1 gig of ram and 200 gig hardrives and a 3.2 Ghz intel northwood processor. Why can't VS 9 read these swf files as it does its own in the sample/video folder. I found a program to convert gif to swf. It is these converted files that do not work. However, I think any swf file should work in VS 9.0. My viewer reads these converted files without issue. I just tried other swf's - not converted gif's and the same problem exists.

Hi,

The question to the properties of the file were to see if it was compatible with your project.

What are the properties of both the file and the project?

Project properties DVD 4:3, 24 bits 720X480, 29.97 f/sec, mpeg layer 2 audio, bit rate 8000.

swf properties: 24 bits, 800X600, 12 f/sec, duration .083 sec (rather small)

The only big thing I see is the frame rate 12 vs 29.97

Where can I get swf's that will work,
a library or something?
