Rendering to HD WMV does not render HD

Post by sgalvez »

I have 11.5.0157.2 Plus (with all the latest patches)
The problem: When I choose
SHARE
CREATE VIDEO FILE
WMV
WMV HD 1080p
SAVE

it generates a small resolution WMV file and not the HD I select.
I have even tried to choose CUSTOM but cannot find the WMV HD profile. I called ULEAD SUPPORT and they suggested I remove and reinstall the software but I still have the same issue. This happens with any HD clip I tried to render as WMV HD. Any suggestions?

I found the problem and the solution to my own question

As it turns out I was missing the lates Windows Media Encoder Series 9 which is not part of ulead but Ulead uses to encode the HD video I wasn't able previously. I went to Microsoft website and was able to download and install the WM Encoder and viola... I was able to render WMD HD.
I hope this becomes a useful tip to others who may come across this issue. The disappointing thing is the Ulead tech support guy on the phone made me remove and resintall Ulead 11.5 in attempts to resolved this issue and he was clueless to what the real problem was.... $15 for nothing.

Not necessarily for nothing... $15 to learn that paying for support is worthless...;)

Glad you got it working... :), however sorry someone didn't reply before you spent the money..:(
