VS12 release date

Post by tonyjer »

Hi

Just got back from vacation so feeling more mentally feeble than usual.

I apologise if the answer to this nis breathtakingly obvious but here goes:

Have VS8 which doesn't work with Vista so downloaded the trial version of 11.5 which worked fine. Was then advised not to purchase as upgrade was not available. Was told about the same time that VS12 release was imminent and that I would be able to upgrade to that version. Seem to recall that precedent implied that this would be around May 08.

Now have 3 holiday projects gathering dust. Can anyone advise on likely release of VS12?

Many thanks

Tony

That precedent belonged to the former Ulead software company.
The product is now owned by Corel who have a different policy regarding software release dates - hence the delay. From what I have read about VS12 Pro it will be worth waiting for.

Perhaps not disturbing but an opportunity for improvement.
What has Corel achieved so far with the "Ulead Range?"

MediaStudio Pro
DVD Workshop
Gif Animator
CD&DVD Picture Show
Cool 3D Production Studio

These are just the one's that immediately spring to mind - I am sure that the users of the former Intervideo range will also have a few to add to the list.

Downloaded and using it now.
It is indeed VideoStudio 12 (version 12.0.98.0) although some of the splash screen say Pro X2.
Other than the dark colour scheme it all looks very familiar

Hi,
I found this web site for Video Studio 12, but it is all in Japanese, but the Screen Shots look interesting.

The Ultimate version is only being sold in select countries, and the US is not one of them. My understanding is that it just includes some extra-bonus freebie program(s).
