I was told from the folks at "HeadShots" in Ottawa that there is a way through Ulead to bring the HD down to Standard Def. Supposedly, this will help quite a bit if using the clips for web viewing etc.

I do not have the need for HD anything right now but I do have the need to simply post some fair to good footage of the event that was recorded in July during a 3 day weekend event.

Is there an option to re-code the footage?

Probably more than obvious that I am a newbie at video. Any info on this is greatly appreciated. The folks that I did the recording for are getting anxious to see the interviews that were done.

Simply place the video on your timeline, go to the Share tab and select Create Video. Now choose an appropriate output format.

You don't actually say if you used a high def camera. However, if you did, and it was a HDV/mpeg-2 one, then in capturing from it, you could down-convert at that stage to standard definition DV format, do your edits, and then follow Steve's instructions.
