Can't Install PI on a new computer because its an upgrade

Post by reddiance »

:?: I purchased Photoimpact way back when you were a small company, version 3.0. Then I upgraded a few times, the latest being version 11. MY problem is that now I've bought a new computer that has Vista on it, I cant install version 11 because it wants the original serial #, which is not written in the case for version 3. Version 3 does not want to install under Vista. It gets stuck at 1%.
How do I install Photoimpact 11 on my new computer? I am not using the old computer anymore. Thanks

We are not Corel/Ulead - we are customers like yourself.
You will need a previous serial number when you install PI 11
One point though - PhotoImpact 11 is not considered VISTA compatible.
A Vista Patch was released for Version 12, the current version is X3.

The previous serial number does not need to be your original version 3, it can be one of your more recent upgrade versions.

The PI installer for PI 11 will ask for the qualifying serial number and your version 3 number is not going to qualify. You need a serial number of PI 10. The upgrade policy clearly states that on their web site http://www.ulead.com/store/pi/upgrade.htm

Did you register your different versions with Ulead in the past? If you did, there is a way to retrieve your serial numbers if you can still log into your account.
