Change background color in photoimpact 8

Post by alison »

Hi-I am very new to Photoimpact & still exploring it. I have a logo on a white background, but want to change the background to black without changing the logo, letters& it's colors itself. i am having a really hard time doing it without coloring the logo itself. Can someone give me the step by step on how to do this without affecting the actual logo. Thanks for any help. Alison

If the logo is not an object and part of the image try the magic wand tool. second button down below the top menus on the left hand side, should have a little arrow in the lower right for slecting a different selction tool. Select the magic wand and click on the solid color you don't want. Then right click on the selection and select invert, right click the logo and select convert to object.

You shouls now have your logo as an object.

You could also use the bucket fill tool, adjust the similarity on the toolbar.

If the colors of the logo are simialr to the background color you can maunally draw your selection using the lasso tool found under the same button as the magic wand tool.

Thank you for your help. Once I select it as an object, then I move it down and then fill the background with the new color and then move it back onto it? What does the similarity button tool do? Thanks again. I really appreciate it.
