Have latest Drivers for all devices & Windows XP Service Pack 3 + updates. After trying to use MovieFactory5 to capture from a (PAL) DVD/VHS player through a Grabster 250. Wasn't able to see any picture through player in any format apart from MPEG. But sufferred severe video lag between video and sound sync after recording. Looked for resoloution through Ulead site which suggested uninstalling and reinstalling MovieFactory after deleting various Ulead folders. Which I did.
After which when I reinstalled MovieFactory, it wouldn't install and came up with a Music driver failure. Unfortunately cannot read the driver's name as the file extensions and name of driver is too long.
Have tried everything in my friend's and I's inventory but cannot find soloution.
Have just tried loading MovieFactory onto my laptop, has loaded but still won't come up with any video capture.
Any help would be most welcome.

If the Grabster came with capture software, you should use that software for the capture step. (If it came with Movie Factory and no other software... Sorry, I don't know what to tell you...)
It's usually best to use the software that's made to work with your analog capture device, because apparently, there are no industry standards for how capture-hardware/drivers interact with capture-software.

Most of these USB-connected devices have a hardware encoder that compresses the data to MPEG before it's sent over the USB bus. The USB-2 bus isn't quite fast-enough for real-time uncompressed video.Wasn't able to see any picture through player in any format apart from MPEG.
