Having already tweaked my systems I cannot recall the exact item to be disabled but its worth checking all of these locations anyway - you will probably find other unwanted stuff you can remove at the same time.
1. Windows Start Menu.
Check what programs run at start up.
Delete any that are not necessary - a lot of program installation routines add stuff here even though you might not want them.
2. Check the Taskbar (Bottom right by the clock)
See what programs are "Running" - any that you don't need try right clicking their icon and see if there is an "Options" entry - often you will find an option "Run at Windows Startup" (or similar wording) - untick it if its not needed.
3. Windows Registry.
Here you have to check Two similar Locations. One is for ALL users, the Other is for the Current User (i.e. YOU)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Remember to back up the keys before you delete any entries just in case you later decide - oops shouldn't have deleted that one!
If you still have a problem then two more places to check are
Start | msconfig
and also
Start | services.msc
