Main menu,Chapters, burning and looping movie

Hey, I'm brand new to this program and forum and require some help if anyone can solve this problem.

I wish to use my own picture for the main menu but when I burnt a movie, it reverted back to one of the default menu screens why is this so???

Secondly when I watched my movie and it finished, it looped back to the beginning of the movie rather than going back to the main menu screen. How do I fix this??

Next I wish to have scene selections on a sub menu but when i select one of the scenes it continues with the rest of the movie raher than finishing that chapter and going back to the sub menu screen.

Lastly, how long should it take for a movie to burn.... when I attempted I had my settings for LP in 16:9 ratio and it took more than 5 hours!!!! what am I doing wrong???

The following are the settings I have now:

NTSC non-drop frame (30 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 320 x 240, 30 fps
Lower Field First
Uncompressed
PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Did you play it in the simulator, did it have your picture as the background?

Hit the little GEAR icon on the bottom left, and uncheck the box that says "Auto repeat when disc ends"

This is normal behavoir when skipping to a chapter within a video title. Think about any retail DVD -- when you jump to a scene, it plays from that scene to the end of the movie. There are Advanced Authoring tools to allow playing just one scene within a video title, but you cannot do this in VS9.

Depends on the length of your video, whether you have motion menus/buttons, your computer specs, your burner capabilities, and the media you used -- and probably other variables as well. Would need more info...


btw, what is your video source, and what are you using to capture your video? the resolution is pretty low at 320x240, and you might be able to do better...

the box that says "Auto playback" is unchecked, though my pull down menu says "Back to menu"

I tested one of the small films on the simulator and it returned back to the menu though I haven't yet burnt it.... will let u know how I go.

btw, what is your video source, and what are you using to capture your video? the resolution is pretty low at 320x240, and you might be able to do better...


My video source is Sony DV recorder, I had captured the video in a previous program (Intervideo) and then just imported this into VS9. Not sure of the capture in this program as no longer have the program - trial period has expired!!!

When you select the replacement background, use the option that replaces ALL the menus

I didn't select to change all menus as the sub menus have a different image as the background. If I press for all menus won't it have the same picture for the main and sub menus??
