Removing captions from video ...HELP please...

Post by taximommie »

I have the videostudio 11 plus trial version. I am hoping I will figure it out and like it so that I can just but it this week. I have had Roxio products for years and had nothing but frusteraions when importing videos. Photos worked great, but not videos.
Anyways, I am at a loss as to how to remove captions. I imported movies that did NOT have captions on them and yet they now play with captions when I edit. Why is that and how do I remove it?
Thank you in advance. :?

Are the videos perhaps DV (avi)? If so they do have the date/time stamp data included, however it is not burned into the video itself, and is only displayed while playing the clip in clip mode. This information will not be burned into the final video product.

To disable being able to view it, in the Preferences dialog (keyboard shortcut of F6, or File menu>Preferences), on the General tab, look toward the bottom for Display DV timecode on Preview Window, and uncheck that option if it is checked on. By default it is not..

If those are not the captions that you are referring to, could you please describe to us what they are?

Sorry, about that.

Maybe I worded that wrong. The captions I am referring to are the actual words from the movie. Everything being said is rolling on the screen. It was not like that when I uploaded it to my computer, nor when I play it through any program on the computer. It just seems to be happening when I import it into this program. Is there a setting I need to turn off maybe? I looked in preferences but didn't see anything. I figured I must be missing something.

CLEVO,

I am not sure if it does. Both movies are commercial. One is Greys Anatomy and one is Love's Abiding Joy. I am trying to cut certain scenes to splice together in a reel format, but keep getting the scrolling talking on screen. My Roxio program never did that, but I have had NUMEROUS other issue with Roxio so I was excited to change to something new.
