So - after years of 'doing it my way' - that is editing via multi-trim...decided to use these scissors..mark in mark out and snip snip.

But, have come stuck...now, not certain what i did ( cut a few pieces here and there and used them ) but am left with that red horizonal bar...stretching over a few seconds of video.

Problem is, when i come to playing my project..not playing a clip ( i can play any clip i want )..but to play the actual project VS, just wants to play this red line.

Surely theres an easy way of getting rid of it...dont think ill carry on using the scissors - for this project anyway.

Can anyone help me rid this annoying red line?

What you did was either marked in or out when you were in Project Mode, instead of Clip Mode - easy mistake - I do it once in a while. As Kenneth says, move the sliders (black triangles under the preview window) to the beginning and end of your video.

Hi Gary

The blue bar immediately below the preview screen is multi functional.

It can be used to trim the ends of a clip, when a video file is selected in the timeline. (Clip mode)
It can be used to set a project playback duration, now you see the red line.

It can be used as a pause duration when creating title animation, overlay animation etc

There may be others????????
