AOpen 1608/ARR DVD Burner

Post by GuyL »

Is anyone successfully using this drive to create DVDs in VS 7.0? No matter what I do, it says the drive is not ready. I can burn and image and successfully burn the DVD using Nero.

Try disabling InCD before you start the burn -- it may be taking control of the blank media.

Just wanted to let you know that I tried this and it didn't work out. Thanks for the idea though. It isn't on the current supported list so I guess there is a reason.

Just because it isn't listed doesn't mean it shouldn't work -- it simply means that Ulead probably never tested it.

Do you have any other unusual utilities loaded, such as an optical drive emulator?

I've come to find out it isn't just Ulead. This drive looks like it is defective. Judging from AOpen's forums, it is not a quality drive.
