Hi
I have a problem with V/S 11+ I¡¦m trying to create a slide show from the many pictures that I have from my digital camera. I made an ESD from the Ulead sight and I¡¦m trying to create a DVD in the Pal system I have also down loaded all service packs. ¡KMy problem is this.
I install the pictures from the MOVIE WIZ and return to the Editor to do further editing. If I have to save the show and open it latter it won¡¦t open in the TIME LINE, only the STORY LINE. Is there some magic button that I should have pressed in the preferences, or what am I doing wrong here?
I would appreciate any help and many thanks
Col

Hi
You can switch to Timeline View¡XStory board view or Audio view.
Three icons to the top of the timeline (for VS 10)
Timeline view looks like an E on its side.

Hi Trevor
Thanks for the reply, but my timeline will only work if I have just put a show into it, if I save it for further editing it will only open in the story mode¡K

Hi Col
I have run a few tests.
When I start Video Studio 10 it always defaults to Storyboard view. ( I assume 11 to be the same)
If I first change the view to Timeline, and then open my project, it loads to the Timeline view.
Whilst I stay in Timeline view all my projects open there.
I do not see this as a problem.

Hi Trevor Thanks for the reply, but I¡¦m still not able to get the timeline to function as it should. If I install the pictures from the Movie wizard and go back to vidoestudio for further editing everything is fine till I stop and save, close the show and open it again; when I do it absolutely refuses to allow me to edit it in the timeline even after I have opened it there. If I want to edit it further I have to start all over and redo the show from the beginning and make sure that I do the lot in one sitting. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and nothing changes.

Can I ask why you are starting off in the Movie Wizard? I've never used the Movie Wizard, only the Editor, and I've never experienced this problem in the Editor.

Hi Col
This is very strange, is it just the Wizard that is creating this effect.
As Jeff indicated, if you insert the images direct to the editor timeline, can you edit in Timeline view.????????? Or does the program limit you to storyboard view.
Thing to try:-
Have you updated your DirectX software
Also check for Intel Indeo driver.
This is the info from the VS ¡¥Read Me¡¦ file
Microsoft DirectX - A driver from Microsoft that improves playback performance of video files. You should install this driver. It will be installed automatically when you are installing Ulead VideoStudio. For more information, visit Microsoft's Web site at
http://www.microsoft.com/directx.
Although it installs automatically, If you haven¡¦t done so re install irrespective of your version number.
Intel Indeo 5.2 - This is the codec for creating or playing .AVI files in QuickTime. You should install Intel Indeo 5.2 or above to be able to use the style templates in the Ulead VideoStudio Movie Wizard.
This may be worth uninstalling and re-installing.

Hi Trevor
First in answer to Jeff¡¦s question, I use the movie wizard as because I find it very easy to load pictures from there. I can load 150 pictures in the wink of an eye, in the editor it takes forever. After I¡¦ve done that I go back to the editor and add music and the like. and it doesn't work from there either.
Trevor I do appreciate your time and trouble. I have done the things that you suggested but I still have the problem, being that once I¡¦ve saved my work and go back and open the project the editor is there but it will not work as such. I know that I¡¦m not the sharpest tool in the shed but if anyone can throw a light in here ¡Kanother thing, I used to get a little splash screen that asked if I wanted to resurrect the previous show. That doesn¡¦t appear any more. Can the program be corrupt? Maybe I could get another electronic download? If I knew where to get it but that is my last throw of the dice.

Hi Col
Good luck with the format and re-install.
The info window asking to resurrect the previous show usually appears after a program fault.
The project has not been saved correctly and VS gives you the opportunity of loading the last project. If you received this info regularly then it would indicate a problem.???????????????
