codecs interfering with mpeg play on windows property

Post by duckrogers »

Hi,
I have mpegs that I can no longer play after I installed MF. However after I uninstalled it, I am still having the same issue.

When I run "Microsoft Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility" it still finds the codec files.

Suggestions, please?

Have you tried to convert the files to another CODEC?

I'm not sure what your message means...you say:

Do you mean after you uninstalled it?

I have had some mpeg problems also after installing MF, but once I uninstall it, the problem goes away. It isn't so severe that that don't play at all, but they are distorted (stretched horizontally). And they don't start automatically like they used to. I've asked for some help and was sent a "mpeg fix", but in my case, it did nothing to solve the problem. Maybe it would work to help you. Try sending in a support form if you have a registered copy of the program.
