Can I create a title that does this?

I have this ongoing vision in my mind of what I would like my ending title to do in many of the tribute Dvds that I create for a funeral home.

Does anyone have a creative schematic using VS11.5's current title animation selection that will do this:

I have a prayer which is for this example say 30 lines long. I would like the text to scroll up from the bottom at a rate which of course makes it readable. This is easy. I would like the title to end in this manner which is what is eluding me. Rather than the last verse of text to scroll off the page at the top I would like the last part to stop in the middle of the screen when it arrives, pause briefly and then fade out instead of scrolling off the top. I know this sounds easy but.......I have yet to find the combination of animations to make it happen and I feel pretty adept with that part of this program. I'm sure there are a lot more creative people here than I so......Anyone?

The only method I have found which will do this for you is to add BLANK lines after the last piece of text so that that last piece of text ends up on the middle of the screen. You will need to add a characters on that last blank line otherwise VS just ignores the blank lines. I use a period (.) as it is almost undetectable - you could even position the period to the far left or right of screen which is in the area which most TVs do not display.
I also often create a STILL image of the frame where the text finishes and then add that saved still image at the end so that the text remains on the screen for as long as you choose.

Create your title without the last part.
Allow the title to fly off screen.

Render this title to a DV file. (Share Create Video File¡XDV)

Start a NEW project adding the new video file.

Create second title containing your last part, fly to centre, position towards the end of the first title video file.
Adjust length to match speed of first title.

Drag second title to the library creating a copy. (third title)
Drag back to timeline, adjacent to second title.
Change the animation of third title to fade out.

Thanks Trevor. This worked good albiet a bit time consuming. Timing was a little tricky. I was actually dreaming (key word) of a non rendering solution and hoping I was missing a setting somewhere in the title animation options. I guess I can add a new animation to my VS12 wish list. But will not hold my breath. No sense making something easy that can be accomplished with work arounds

If we deciphered the Japanese version correctly, I believe v12 will have more than one title track which should make this type of effect much easier to produce.

I actually hashed this out in my mind to try to deduce if another title track and the current selection of animations would make this work and I don't think so. The scroll will still continue to move off the screen no matter what you do.

You are correct though more title tracks will provide a lot more options. This however doesn't appear to be one of them.

Ah, but what you can have is one title track with the text that scrolls off the screen. On the other track you have your last line of text that will fly in on the heels of the first title, making it look like it's part of the scroll, and ending in a static title (using a second copy of the title, without animation).

In my mind it will work flawlessly.

In my mind (which has never worked flawlessly) when the second title stopped the bottom line of the first one would continue to flow upward and through the upper lines of the last text on the second title. If you try to cut it short it will only make it scroll faster.

Maybe I'm not understanding your thoughts correctly. I can't think of how you will suppress the ending of title one from being visible without a rendering.

How about the abiltiy to cut a title clip like we do video on other tracks instead of just changing duration? I think this would give us more flexibility than a second title track since we already have multiple titles per track. Then you can cut it right as it reaches center and delete the ending. Then add a static title that fades out. Of course you can now render it and accomplsh this but I'm still dreaming.

You wouldn't have the last line on the first title. The last line would be on the second title track, by itself.

The way you have it set now is for the text to fly in from the bottom and exit at the top. The way I envision it is the same way for your first title track, minus the last line.

Then on your second track you have your last line, flying in from the bottom, timing it so it looks like it is part of the first title, but not exiting (or exiting from the center - I forget how it works). You then follow up with the static image, if needed.

Ok, this is all supposition and now I'm getting all excited thinking about all the cool titles I might be able to do. C'mon Corel, release v12 already!
