What's the best make DVD writer at present.

Post by alanball »

Hi all,
my dvd writer (Philips DVD+RW DVD 86310) in my Dell computer has just pack in. Can anyone advise the best make to go for to replace this writer. I know this depends a lot on individual likes and dislikes but I have
read that the NEC and Pioneer are good. Any coments would be appreciated.

Hi Accolades,
thanks fou you reply.
I checked it on the internet and it's about $55:00 hear in NZ reviews sound OK. I also checked out the ASUS DRW-2014L1T SATA LS this afternoon which also has lightscribe which would be good to try, thats selling at the same price.

Another writer I looked at was the Pioneer DVR-213LS 20X SATA which is also lightscribe and thats at $66. I did a search for reviews and someone said that this writer was infact a rebaged ASUS2014L1T so you don't know what to believe!!

There are only a handful of DVD writer manufacturers making all the diferent brand names. It's called badge engineering
