DMF7 and DirectShow filters

Post by Stas »

Hi,

I have Sony laptop and InterVideo WinDVD BD for VAIO installed (version 8.0.9.429). I use it to watch Blu-ray movies. But another cool thing about this software is that it allows it's audio and video filters to be used by other DirectShow players like Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic. E.g. when I play a file (.m2ts, .ts, .avi. etc.) with AC3 audio in WMP, it uses "InterVideo Audio Decoder" to decode AC3 audio.

But the problem is: after I installed the trial of DMF7, this functionality suddenly broke. "InterVideo Audio Decoder" could not be used to play AC3 audio in Windows Media Player anymore. :( I tried to re-register "InterVideo Audio Decoder" filter, increase filter merit, but these did not help.

Could you please investigate this problem and possibly provide some info on how to fix it. Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Try this utility program.
Take a look at all the other links on the webpage, there are a few utilities to correct this issue. Depends, XP/Vista/verison media player etc.

I managed to fix this problem eventually by uninstanning WinDVD BD for VAIO and installing it again (with DMF7 installed).

It's unlikely the utility you suggested would help. First, I'm talking about Windows Media Player, not Windows Media Center (which I don't use at all). Second, this utility will likely help to select an alternative AC3 decoder, but it's highly unlikely it would help to fix "Intervideo Audio Decoder". I can do this (e.g. select an alternative decoder) with other tools, like GSpot (by manipulating with filter merits). While what I wanted was to fix "Intervideo Audio Decoder", so that it worked again. I thought since you are developers of both products, you can tell what I can change in registry or somewhere else to make audio filter work without the need to reinstall WinDVD BD.

Hi,

There are no technical developers here, we are, like yourself all users.
You would have to contact technical support for questions to any developers/programmers etc..
