Reducing File Size

I just put my first movie together with VideoStudio 11.5 and I selected the option for email. The file size, however, is way too big and when I tried to send it to myself the computer froze. How do I compress to a manageable size? It's only a short clip of under 2 minutes.

What format was the video in?
Have you tried lowering the video +audio bit rate and video quality?
Is page 122 of the manual any help .................Ken
