capturing from a vhs tape

hi i am using an easycap capture usb 2.0 video adapter which came with video studio SE 10.0 . I have set all the options ok composite - video PAL etc and I CAN GET THE VIDEO TO play IN THE PREVIEW WINDOW but when i start capture i get unexpected error no time stamp has been set for this sample and it only captures a black screen and i get message content unreadable when i try to drag it to timeline the properrties of this unreadable file are 16 bit avi 640/480 i got a feeling i,m nearly there but am doing sometghing wrong please help

Heres a link that deals with some issues in using EasyCAP device.
Mine works fine and to me its the best thing I bought considering its price portability and associated software. To others it may not be the case but I fault most of their computers settings that demise the usb capture device.

Your better off not setting the options to AVI but rather DVD for capture this should work.
