Using a server to for avchd processing?

I just recently purchased an avchd camcorder and from what I have been reading you need a pretty stout machine to process these files. I am a systems admin and I have access to used servers running dual xeon processers. I know the vs11 documentation says it takes advantage of dual core processors, but didn't know how it would handle the server.

Has anyone used a server here to process avchd files with vs11 and if so how did it perform?
