Capture Driver

Post by bytedisk »

I open launcher, then click on Start project, then click next, click on pic of DV (capture video from a video device) then a new window opens and auto fills most of the empty box questions on the page. I then click start capture, the camera makes noise for 15 seconds and then I get an error message stating "The capture failed, the file may be corrupt, Delete this file?) I have ignored this and also clicked to delete the file but both put me back to Capture Video and starts over again.
I'm using the free download of dvd moviemaker, the camera is a Sony PC100, yes the camera is plugged into IEEE, camera is on.
PS. I was able to download video when I was trying out VideoStudio a while back.
I'd like to see if I can use this program but don't know what to do to fix this error message.
Thanks for your help,
Byte...

...the camera is a Sony PC100...
Is that a MiniDV camera? If so, it should work. Or, you can try WinDV, which is FREE, and has a very good reputation. Or, maybe the camera came with capture/transfer software?

If it's not a MiniDV camera, you'll probably have to use the capture/transfer software that came with the camera. Or, if Windows sees the camera as an external drive, you can simply "drag & drop" the files onto your hard drive (with Windows Explorer).

You can also capture the video with the built in Windows Movie maker and then open the captured file with MovieFactory.
