Dropped Frames??

Post by Pflash »

I tries to use the "direct to disk" feature. What I want to do is transfer from VHS to DVD without editing, and in the best possible quality. My experiment led to goos audio, but choppy video. I have a AMD 2800 with 1 gig ram and two hard drives (I use the second 80 gig for storage. I don't know if I have DMA activated, just where do you activate this? I looked in the bios, but didn't see it there (saw that problem on previous post) Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I finally found DMA settings and it is set for that if it's available. Maybe there is another setting to get rid of the choppy effect.

What capture device and capture settings do you use?

Perhaps someone can offer some capture hardware specific suggestions.

What was current transfer mode set to? It should be Ultra DMA mode 4 or 5. Also, make sure that you are checking the correct IDE channel i.e. the one that has your capture hard drive connected to it.

Hope this helps.
