HD to DVD problems
jumpy video
Hello to everyone
The other day I tried to record my video into a DVD of 28 minutes it took 2.37 gb
The result was that it turened out to be jumpy thru the video
How can I fix the problem do I convert an .m2t file into AVI or just leave it like that or convert it into .mjg
The manual does not explained any of this neither the knowledgebase site of Corel.
So Wha is the best way to get a good quality DVD recording out of a HDV video whithout loosing quality.
One other question was not answered.
What is power DVD. I know is a utility that come with the LG Blu Ray disc burner.
That brings me to the next question.
I read some where I think it was here in this forum about the Blu Ray burners that are compatible.
What brand Blu Ray burners is the reasonable price that I could purchase to burner by HD video into a Blu Ray disc?
your imput will be appreciate

Re: jumpy video
You simply cannot do what you are asking. Different ways of looking at this:DAAdood wrote:

1, you reduce, say, a 1024 pixels-wide image to a 720 px-wide one. What do you think happens to the other 304 pixels? They represent 30% of the video info in a single line
2. you reduce, say, a frame with 768 progressive lines to 576 or 480 interlaced lines (assuming the same frame rate). What do you think happens to the missing lines?
3. you reduce, say, 25 Mbit/s down to, say, 6 Mbit/s. What happens to the other 19 Mbit/s?
It is simply impossible to make a SD DVD out of a HD source without losing anything and it is unrealistic to expect to do so. This is simple arithmetic.

Then let me see what you are saying:
There is no way to create a video that was record from HDV1080I to a dvd player? Is that what you are saying?
because it has to reduce from 1080 to a 720x 420 Right?
Now then in order to have it in a les say to a DVD it must be record as HD not stand DVD right?
I asume that I can recorder back to tape in my camcorder HDV format of course and then able to record it back to a DVD Hd or Blu ray disc whatever Right?
Please tell me because i am a bit confused now.

No, I didn't say that at all. I said it is not possible to make a SD DVD from an HD source, without losing quality. You can do it WITH a loss of quality.
If you want it at minimal quality loss, you may record to BR, assuming you have a BR player.
If you want it as a DVD, you have to accept that it is SD quality and not HD.
Whether you can record back to the cam depends on both the type of cam and your soft/hardware and how they interact.

project settings
Hi Devil or for whom may answer this question then:
I am not going to argue the quality of video that would have to do with DVD. But I just experiment something by accident that by using the new (Competitor) 8 ULTRA EDITION, only will accept m2t format but it will fit a full 1.5 of video in a RW DVD disc. and the quality is pretty good for a standard TV . But also in my HD TV it was acceptable not as bad as it if I try to burned it as DVD.
I believed it was burned as a AVCHD which ( competitor) burner s it as AVCHD. I am sorry I am not aloud to mention the competitor name here in this forum. I am sure you can figure it out.
But anyway it brings me to my next question
if I have the settings by mistake, because i meant to have it in HDV 1080i setting to edit my video of HD. and I have set it on DVD NSTC. Should it make a difference when I render or create a video in HD1080i 16:9 port Stream.
if it does, Then I should be editing the video with the settings in1080i 16:9 etc. and then create video in HD 1080i 16:9 Transport Stream for HDV or HD which one.
if you can reply this one please do if not then let someone else to answer.
Thank you
Luis

No way! I'm not into HD nor do I intend to! Hence my total confusion of your use of HD, HDV, AVCHD etc. That is why I would like someone else to take over this thread.

Hey Devil I dont blame you.
I understand, I thought you be into HD that is why I asked and place the post for someone to answer, but since you are the one who reply then I thought you had worked or working with HD. I can tell you this much thoug I found things dealing with HD that I was not expecting. But Nero this the job that no other Athourize software would aloud me to do and that is to fit 1hour and 18minutes into a standard DVD. with excellent results thoug.
Anyway Thankyou for your reply and try to help

Sorry... I have to say it.... Devil is not the one confused here.
You can not play HD (of any kind) in a dvd player.... PERIOD.
A dvd player is restricted to SD resolutions. Now this is not to say that you can't put Hd either in the form of mpeg or avchd on a normal dvd and play it back... because you can... you just can't do it in a dvd player. For playback you need either a proper computer or a a high definition player (ie: a HD DVD player, The PS3, or a Blu Ray player)
Further more, MSP is not set up to do these kinds of disks. You need to use Movie factory or Video studio.
As far as blu ray burners go.... I have the LG H20L which is a good burner and good bang for the buck. You can now pick up 25 packs of inkjet printable BR disks for $199 at newegg.com (that's about $8 per disk)
ADDED:
I forgot to mention that the PS3 will also play back M2T files copied straight to a dvd. It will not play as a high def dvd but rather a data file, but it will play.
And BTW... you can't fit an hour and 18 minutes of HD on a dvd unless you SEVRELY cut the bitrate, so my guess is that you're doing something wrong. On a single layer dvd you can get 20 minutes of mpeg at 25M and 25 minutes at 19M. With AVCHD you can get about 30 minutes at 17M.
A Blu Ray disk (which is 25gig compared 4.7gig on dvd) will hold just a bit under 2 hours of mpeg at 25M.

Talk to me,
I managed to Edit an HD for 75 mniutes long. By dividnig it into three parts, I had to make it into 3 parts because MSP8 does'nt seem to able to handle a large size frame .
I found out that Nero8 accepet the full 75 minutes video (format m2t) and convert it some how into mpg. The quality is pretty good for what is DVD palying it back on a analog TV. The reason i used Nero 8 is because is say that I can make movies in AVCHD rather it say that I can import AVCHD videos into DVD, but then Ultra 7 does the same thing as Ultra 8. First MSP8 does not create video in AVCHD neither ( the competitor editor) pro 8 . If you know how to create video in format of AVCHD please lead me to it becasuse I cant find it anywhere what software will do it.
You said that MSP will not handle this types of disc instead Movie Factory will do that or video Studio.
Well I tried Movie Factory the one that comes with MSP8 and it does give me a fatal error.
I am not aware that it may be a patch to fix the error. I do try to load the video created ro render by MSP8 and Movie Factory just gives me a fatal error.
Which model number you refering to LG Blu Ray burner , because there is only one model that is a burner and the rest of them are just reader and burner of DVD etc NOT BLU RAY.
Are you refering to the Model GGW-H20L the one that is for 269.99?
Now since I already have a video renderd to 1080x 1440 mpg, or m2t
by using a Blu Ray burnner will I be able to watch the video in FULL HD.
I have read the reviews of customer that have the same burnner supposely that same one that you have that says that a Disply must be readywith HDCP ready otherwise i would not able to see it at all. Could that be correct?
I do have a television that suppose to be a HD but is a 1080i instead of the 1080p. Does that make a difference?
You also mentions about PS3 I dont have a HD player yet but I do intent to get one What do you recommend a just player or the PS3 40g or 80g . I dont really care much about the game console. just to able to play my movies etc.
Talk to you later
LUis
You need to use Movie Factory 6 or better.
I have the LG H20L burner and it's a good one. I haven't burned a bad disk yet.... and I have done quite a few of them now.
And your M2T that you have.... you don't even need a Blu Ray burner if you don't want. You can copy that M2T directly to a dvd and play it back in the PS3. Yes you will get the full 1080 display. The advantage to blu ray disks is SIZE. On a single layer BD disk I can get almost 2 hours. On a DOUBLE layer dvd I can only get 40 minutes.
You don't need a 1080p TV.... 1080i will work fine. Just make sure your tv has either HDMI or component inputs.
If you're looking at the PS3 strictly as a player then the 40gig will do fine. (I have the 40gig and it works well)

neobob HD etc
HEllo again and Good Morning here from Miami.
Let me see if I understand this. you saying. that I don't even need a Blu Ray burner if I don't want. You can copy that M2T directly to a dvd and play it back in the PS3.
Yes but how much time of vide you are talking about then less than 20 minutes to fit in a DVD?
Question coping it in DVD do I need the PS3? is it because it recordes it in HD full 1080? and that is why it requires PS3 or Blu disc player.
Cant I just play in regular DVD player.
Then how come Nero 8 ultra records the full 75 minutes in DVD with no problem it filled out the full 4gb of the DVD and I can play it back with a SD DVD player of course in analog TV. with my HD television I see some degrading on it.
Let me see if I understand maybe because what Ultra8 did was to compressed it to fit in the disk and that is all . it does not mean is a full 1080 diplay . Right?
I dont have a Blu Dis player yet to try out playing it on HD with a HDMI input to see the difference . Do you think will make the difference?
Thank you for that input this lets me decide wether to buy the PS3 now or later not to mention the LG H20L that everyone talks so much about it.
Thank you again
